Ashton Whitty and Asia Argento
Ashton Blaise Whitty is an American actress, born in Berkeley on the 1st October 1996. Her work as an actress is popular for Choices (2010, The Heart and Other Small Shapes, 2006) and Chrissie Mair's Content House 2022.
Asia Argento was born in Rome, Italy, into the family of actors and filmmakers, both occupations which she has herself taken up. The Church was directed by Michele Soavi. Red Wood Pigeon, the film she appeared in as Nanni Moretti's young daughter, was released just a few years later. However, it came from Close Friends by Michele Placido that made Asia's acting career explode. Cannes International Film Festival received the movie well. Daria Argento, her mother, and one of Argento's most beloved actors Daria is an anorexic teenager who is searching for the murderer of her parents in Trauma. Asia's intense and absorbed performance style was put to good use in the film Condannato a nozze. In 1993, she was a co-star in the film Perdiamoci by Carlo Verdone di vista. She was Arianna who was a disabled girl--an intricate, difficult character that earned an award from David di Donatello for the best actress. She was also prominent roles in the international cast in the film Queen Margot directed by Patrice Chereau. In 1995 she worked with Michel Piccoli in Peter Del Monte's Compagna di viaggio which again brought her the David di Donatello as well as an award of Grolla d'oro. In 1994 Asia turned her hand to direct and made two short films an episode of the movie De Generazione In 1996 she directed a documentary on her father, and in 1998, one on the cult director Abel Ferrara, AbelAsia which won an award at The Rome Film Festival. Asia made her debut as a director in 1999, with Scarlet Diva. It was also the lead screenwriter and actress. In May 2000, the movie became available to the public worldwide. It won an award in Brooklyn's Williamsburg festival of film.
